Fairlane, aka Tyler Mead, is a bass producer who hails from Vancouver, Canada. He is known for his emotional, raw, catchy, guitar-driven productions. In 2017, he started his project with a bang, releasing an official remix of Rihanna’s “Desperado” in 2017, and has since worked with some of the biggest names in Dance – from collaborating with Slander, to touring with Illenium for his Awake 2.0 Tour, to supporting Gryffin, Vanic, and William Black.

During the interview, we talked about how he hypes himself up before a set; how he started off and transitioned into his music journey; his raw and human productions and process; mental health; and his biggest challenges and favorite moments of being in music. He mentions that he’s grateful for all the people in his life who have been supporting him, and his girlfriend, who “tolerates” him. We’re sure she more than just tolerates him!

I wrapped up the interview by asking Tyler what’s coming up for him in 2023. He responded: Rocktronic, heavier songs, and pushing his sound design even further. So definitely stay tuned!
