In the eerie heart of Austin, Texas, amidst the Halloween festivities of Freaky Deaky, we had the thrill of interviewing the enigmatic ALLEYCVT, an artist whose energy is as infectious as her music! We explored her musical journey, her experiences in the industry, and her highly anticipated release “GLITCH” on Deadbeats Records; here’s what she had to say!

What is the backstory behind the ALLEYCVT project?
ALLEYCVT’s dive into electronic music started during the pandemic, already quite a few years into her music career. She had been a musician her whole life, playing guitar, songwriting, and producing. She explained, “I wish I did it sooner because I’ve always been in the scene. It just seemed way too hard and scary to learn because it’s a different ballgame.”
Learning electronic music production was a daunting task for ALLEYCVT. She emphasized the importance of not letting defeat consume you and encouraged aspiring producers to “fail forward” in their learning process. She had sat on her music for years, doubting its readiness for the world. She found the courage to release her music after a TikTok video gained traction. In the end…
“It doesn’t matter if you think it’s never going to be perfect. Just put [the track] out and stop self-sabotaging.”
ALLEYCVT’s music is now known for seamlessly blending pop songwriting with bass-heavy drops. She explained, “You can bring all those elements together and make your own thing while still being categorized as bass and electronic music without being boxed in.”

Mentors and supporters in your music career?
ALLEYCVT highlighted her family, friends, and manager Brian as significant sources of support. She also stressed the importance of having DJ friends in the industry, like her recent co-collaborator Zingara, who can offer guidance, noting, “It’s nice to have people in the space to talk to and ask for advice when needed.” We love to hear musicians supporting other musicians; that’s a big part of what we’re all about!

All that work has paid off with your first tour! How has it been so far, and what’s next?
ALLEYCVT’s Planet Supersonic tour has been sweeping the nation over the last few months. She described her tour experience as “magical” and “surreal.” She acknowledged dealing with imposter syndrome due to the rapid success of her project. Looking ahead, she intends to focus on honing her music-making skills saying, “Next year is all about making music and coming up with new stuff. An EP is on the horizon.”

ALLEYCVT expressed her passionate commitment to environmental and wildlife conservation, saying, “I believe we need a healthy planet to address other world issues. It’s a nuanced issue, but I care deeply about it. I love nature.” In line with this, she wants to put a spotlight on the fact that for her tour, she’s been partnering with One Tree Planted, a remarkable environmental non-profit. This organization does an incredible job of tree planting across the globe. One dollar from every ticket sold goes towards One Tree Planted, enabling them to plant one tree for every dollar. Tell us more about your upcoming title, “GLITCH”!
ALLEYCVT couldn’t contain her excitement as she announced her new release “GLITCH” on Deadbeats Records. “I wanted to make a happy song about love. I think the world needs more of it. It doesn’t even necessarily have to do with falling in love with another person, just falling in love with something that makes you feel like you’ve escaped the monotony of day-to-day life; escaping the matrix that we’re in, even if it makes you uncomfortable.” After listening to the track, we at Neon Owl feel that love, almost as much as the love and adoration ALLEYCVT has for her fans:
“You guys are the reason I get to do this and live out my dream.”
