If you’re a video game fan and a lover of EDM, then the Ultra Music Festival official 2023 aftermovie ‘ULTRA: VICE CITY’ is going to be one of the best festival aftermovies you’ve probably ever seen. Cleverly written, with beautifully captivating cinematography, references that GTA and EDM fans alike will appreciate, and a killer soundtrack that goes along perfectly with each scene in the storyline; it was the perfect look back at last year’s festival, while simultaneously building hype for the 2024 edition.

Inspired by immersive, third-person role-playing video game experiences, fans can relive the magic of last year’s sold out edition of the festival, which took place in Bayfront Park, Miami. Produced by Amsterdam-based creative production company Final Kid Films, ‘ULTRA: VICE CITY’ is a visual masterpiece that redefines conceptual aftermovie storytelling and recaps the festival in an entirely new way.

The movie kicks off with beautiful shots of Downtown Miami, narrowing in on the festival grounds and showcasing excited attendees about to enter the festival. The viewer is then introduced to the film’s protagonist, Nick, flanked by a circular map, money counter, and GA ticket graphic in the corners of the screen. Nick receives a phone call, where it is revealed that he must complete a series of missions to assist Ultra Music Festival 2023 performers before he can enjoy his time at the festival.

Without spoiling the missions (because trust me, this video is worth every second of its 16:12 watch time, and part of that enjoyment comes from not knowing what happens next), plot-featured artists include Fedde Le Grand, Oliver Heldens, Tchami, and Carl Cox. The missions also take Nick through Ultra’s Main Stage, UMF Radio Stage, Worldwide Stage, and the RESISTANCE Megastructure, spliced with scenes featuring numerous iconic acts including Claude Von Stroke, Nicky Romero, Dom Dolla, Sub Zero Project, Anfisa Letyago, Armin Van Buuren, Charlotte de Witte, Afrojack, Tiesto, Layton Giordani, Adam Beyer, Nicole Moudaber Kx5, Malaa, Grimes, Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, REZZ, Hardwell, Martin Garrix and more.

Nick is finally free to enjoy his evening at the festival after his final task takes him to Miami Beach’s M2 nightclub, which recently unveiled 5 weeks of lineups beginning Halloween weekend through November. ULTRA Worldwide’s underground concept RESISTANCE has included programming stages at Ultra events in 35 cities internationally, to tours across Latin America and Asia, to its residency in Ibiza at the world’s largest nightclub Privilege, and now to Miami Beach’s two-story venue M2 Miami, bringing RESISTANCE’s signature, stadium-smashing production in a more intimate, sultry club atmosphere.
