As a veteran of the electronic music scene, Trivecta (a.k.a. Sam) continues to evolve both as an artist and a person. Recently, he sat down with Neon Owl for another candid conversation, diving into life on the road, his favorite music experiences, and even his guilty pleasure—hot sauce. Here’s what went down.
Life on the Groove Cruise
For anyone who’s followed Trivecta’s career, you know he’s been a staple on Groove Cruise, the legendary floating festival that’s part party, part community. But Sam’s first experience on the ship didn’t exactly have him sold on the idea. “I was terrified of cruises,” he says with a laugh, recounting his hesitation to hop aboard. But after some convincing, Trivecta finally boarded—and walked off four days later saying, “Bury me on this ship. I want to be on here every year for the rest of my life.”
What changed? “I love the community,” he says, reflecting on the tight-knit group of friends that makes the Groove Cruise experience so unique.
“ There was this feeling, like the first day of school. There’s that excitement, but also some anxiety—seeing everyone again after being apart for so long. ”
Beyond the social vibes, Trivecta appreciates the laid-back, no-pressure environment that allows him to be more creative. “It’s just so much fun. I wake up, walk over to the stage in my flip-flops, and look at my thumb drive to see what I brought with me. There’s no pressure—it’s a more relaxed, loose vibe.” That freedom allows him to explore sets and back-to-backs that he wouldn’t normally get to do elsewhere. And as anyone who’s been to Groove Cruise can tell you, it’s the place for random, wild collaborations with other DJs. Trivecta reminisces, “You end up doing back-to-backs—or sometimes back-to-fifteen-backs—with artists you never thought you’d get the chance to play with.”

The Creative Evolution: Find My Way and Trivecta’s Definition of Success
While Groove Cruise offers spontaneous moments of creativity, Trivecta’s growth as an artist has also been deeply influenced by his evolving music production process. His second album, Find My Way, reflects a pivotal shift in how he expresses himself. “With this album, I’ve really dug into new sounds, new emotions, and a more refined version of myself,” he explains. “It’s about not only pushing boundaries musically but also pushing myself as a person.”
Sam believes that true success lies in the journey of self-discovery.
“ For me, success isn’t about having the biggest track or the most followers. It’s about staying true to myself, growing as an artist, and connecting with people who understand that growth. ”
He notes that, over the years, his sound has matured as he’s learned to embrace vulnerability and experiment with new genres. “I’m not just trying to create bangers,” he says. “I want to create something that resonates with people on a deeper level.”
As he moves forward, Trivecta is focused on taking more risks in his music, something that’s been a significant part of his creative process for Find My Way. “I’ve really allowed myself to explore different emotions in my music. I’m creating with more freedom than ever before.”
Hot Sauce and Steaks: Trivecta’s Guilty Pleasures
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Trivecta interview without a deep dive into his favorite food and drink habits. When it comes to hot sauce, Sam’s not shy about his love for Frank’s RedHot—the perfect ingredient for his favorite buffalo-style chicken. But when it comes to breakfast burritos, he’s all about the heat, reaching for sauces like Gator Hammock and Melinda’s habanero.
As for steaks, Trivecta enjoys both casual and intimate meals. For large gatherings, he’s all about the tri-tip, but when it’s just him and a few close friends, it’s a fillet he favors. “A fillet’s special—it’s very personal,” he adds with a smile.
Looking Ahead: The Future of Trivecta
As for what’s next, Trivecta is more determined than ever to continue evolving. “I feel like I’m finally getting to the point where I’m doing my best work,” he reflects. His passion for music, both as a performer and producer, continues to fuel his drive. “The more I learn, the more I want to create,” Sam says, adding that there’s still so much to explore in the world of electronic music.
And whether he’s on stage or reflecting on his creative growth, Trivecta stays grounded in his belief that the journey is what truly matters.
” It’s all about finding your way—not just musically, but in life. “
