Out now on Dim Mak, Callie Reiff’s “Special” is a vocal-driven Tech House track featuring Callie’s seductive spoken word over rave-inspired 909 hats, reverbed synth plucks, and a fresh House wub bassline. The song’s evocative lyrics make for a perfect sultry club track, best enjoyed on a dark dancefloor. “Special” is the latest single in a slew of more sophisticated music from Callie on Dim Mak. “Special” follows her releases “Chance” and “My Room,” showcasing a more mature side of Callie as her sound evolves.

The start of “Special” is mesmerizing, with prominent hats and background percussion creating an atmosphere akin to standing outside a club, hearing a distant, seductive voice tempting you to enter. As you step inside, the drop introduces heavy leads and a dirty reese bass that cuts through the mix, making the track irresistibly inviting. The second buildup, characterized by a skip rhythm, adds to the allure, creating a groove that swings like a voice that is almost distant, seductive, and dangerously tempting. Every sound in “Special” carries an aura of warm purple, making it inviting, heavy, and tantalizingly smooth.

In Callie’s words,

“ Special is about having a crush on someone who keeps trying to make things overly perfect. The idea came out of me being frustrated with this boy who kept overthinking everything, so I was telling my friends I told him to ‘stop trying to make it so special! We should just be together! That’s it!’ While making the track, it made me have this sort of confidence to let things go while also making fun of myself and the whole situation. This song is for the dance floor, the party girls, your bedroom, and to send to your crush! ”

Send “Special” to your crush ASAP ❤️

About Callie Reiff: From musical prodigy to industry trendsetter, Callie Reiff is unlike any other. As an accomplished producer, DJ, and all-around performer, she’s made history as the youngest DJ to perform at Webster Hall. Since then, she’s taken the stage at festivals such as Creamfields, EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland, and Ultra, opening for world-renowned acts including Deadmau5, Skrillex, and more. This year, she began her Vegas residency at Zouk Nightclub with Deadmau5 and will kick off the summer opening for Steve Aoki at Brooklyn Mirage. On top of all this, she sold out her first headline show at Elsewhere in Brooklyn on a Tuesday night nonetheless.

Now at 24 years old, “let’s kiss, let’s dance, let’s sweat” is Callie’s MO. She has aligned herself at the intersection of dance punk, eurotrash, and bloghouse, all seamlessly combined with her own vocals in her tracks. Callie now brings her sweaty, high-energy house music to her party series called Tour de LES with her best friend in her hometown, NYC. It’s clear the sky is truly the limit for Callie’s ever-growing career.
