On October 5, 2024, Crankdat delivered an unforgettable performance at his biggest headline show to date, Under the CranK Bridge, right beneath the towering Kosciuszko Bridge in Brooklyn. Under the K Bridge—which was recently transformed from an abandoned industrial site into a vibrant open layout, situated along Newtown Creek, provided the perfect backdrop for the high-energy night of bass music. The atmosphere was electric, the crowd was charged, and our Neon Owl team had the absolute pleasure of experiencing this monumental event firsthand. There’s something about Crankdat’s music that hits differently when you’re standing beneath a massive bridge, with the bass echoing off the steel and concrete—it was nothing short of surreal!

The night kicked off with incredible sets from Perry Wayne, RUVLO, and CELO, each delivering their own unique energy to fire up the crowd. Then BARELY ALIVE took the stage as direct support for Crankdat, and he brought the show to a whole new level. Known for their mastery of heavy bass mashups and remixes, his set was a relentless barrage of some of the craziest edits we’ve heard this year. A highlight of the night was definitely their remix of “Tsunami” with Samplifire, which hit the crowd with a wave that shook the venue, perfectly primed for Crankdat’s set next.

Up next was the man of the hour! Crankdat made his way to the stage to an epic, yet hilarious, homage to NYC introduction – in true Crankdat fashion. From the first drop to the last, the entire venue was engulfed in reverberations as Crankdat unleashed some of his most well-known tracks, including the fan-favorite “STFU” and his explosive collaboration with DJ Snake, “Big Bang”. Every track, every drop hit harder than the last, and the crowd responded with unrelenting energy.

Crankdat’s M.F.U. production, something we haven’t seen since his show at the Hollywood Palladium, was front and center: massive middle fingers raised by cranes flanking the stage. The visuals and production were bold and rebellious, mirroring the unapologetic attitude that Crankdat’s music brings to the table. Behind the M.F.U. production was a new take on audience immersion, the Crank Deck, a second stage behind the DJ booth where Crankdat invited some of his most loyal fans—myself included—to join him for the entire show.

The Crank Deck gave us a unique 360-degree experience, allowing us to watch Crankdat work the crowd from behind the booth while also feeling the energy from the sea of fans in front of us. It was a special moment, a break from the usual VIP exclusivity, where fans got to be part of the show itself. The view from the Crank Deck, watching thousands of people headbang and lose themselves to the music, was surreal. It felt like being in the eye of a storm, with Crankdat controlling the chaos all around us.

Now we knew there would be a special back to back set after Crankdat’s main set, but he definitely surprised everyone by bringing out Sullivan King for their first ever B2B. Their chemistry was undeniable, and watching them trade off between live guitar solos and filthy bass drops created an insane atmosphere. The crowd fed off their energy, and the intensity in the air was something truly special. The night ended with a mashup of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin'” and Avicii’s “Levels,” with Crankdat and Sullivan King standing atop the DJ table, arms raised as lasers cut through the night sky. It was a fitting end to a night that was nothing short of legendary.

Under the CranK Bridge was a uniquely immersive experience. From the bold M.F.U. visuals to the personal touch of the Crank Deck, Crankdat ensured that everyone, whether in the crowd or on stage, walked away with lasting memories. It was a masterclass in how to throw a show.
