What Is Open Door Sessions?

Open Door Sessions started as in-person events where we brought in established brands, founders, and artists, among other influencers in the industry to come teach and share with the next generation of up and coming creatives in the music industry. We’ve had guests like Andrew Rayel, MaRLo, Autograf, RAM, Sacha Robotti, Ilan Bluestone, Matt Medved, Jordan Suckey, Orjan Nilsen, Christian Burns, Vassy, Monika Santucci and more. Some of the other brands we have had on have include: Anjunabeats, Groove Cruise, Brownies and Lemonade, Northern Nights Music Festival, Billboard Dance, TranceFamily SF, Wave Music, 1015 Folsom, Dash Radio, Future Factory Radio, Baked Up, We Dream Worlds and more.

The range of topics we have covered range from building and monetization on twitch, mental health awareness, production 101, art of DJing, music marketing, networking etiquette, women in the music biz, building an events company, to entertainment law. With every event, we also host a demo listening party at every event, and have had a fair share of collaborations and tracks signed from our events.

Since launching Open Door Sessions, magic has been created among the attendees and our community — from countless booked gigs, networking opportunities, partnerships, to tracks signed onto labels like Armada, Sloth Acid, Play Me Records and more.  

So whether you are an aspiring producer just getting started and a seasoned artist looking to create more connections and opportunities, Open Door Sessions is the place for you! 

Is our community only for artists, DJs, producers and vocalists?

Of course not! We have a ton of entrepreneurs, artist managers, writers, PR, and talents from all facets of the music industry. So whether you are looking to meet more like-minded people to level up in your career, tap into other areas in the music industry, seek opportunities, or are here to talk shop, you can come learn and network with like-minded creatives all over the world!

If you are new to the industry, we are confident that Open Door Sessions is what you are seeking to kick start your career. Or perhaps you have been in it for a while, we understand that this is not an easy industry to be in and we’re happy to be the support and community you are looking for! But don’t take our word for it! We believe that the value of our community will speak for itself. 

What are some examples of topics and lessons in the ODS mastermind?

Topics include but are not limited to:

-Walk throughs in the different levels of production, songwriting, DJing, mixing and mastering.

-Everything from marketing, PR, social media to to branding 101.

-Logistics of running a business, finances and numbers, to legal issues and contracts.

-Networking etiquette along with how to build and maintain relationships in the music industry.

-How to grow your fan base and leverage other brands to grow your own. 

-Lessons on building twitch, starting a Spotify playlist to music distribution.

-How to get noticed on different platforms, gain opportunities on gigs, collaborations, and radio play. 

-Topics around mental health, diversity and inclusion among other wellness talks. 

We always host demo listening parties at our events where we bring in established artists, record labels, taste makers and curators to give you feedback on your tracks. Artists get to have their tracks critiqued and worked on, and sometimes even signed to labels. All production levels are encouraged, whether you are just starting out or are an excelled producer.

Although not guaranteed, depending on the nature of your work and progress, there may be opportunities for us to link your music to key curators and decision makers. This is highly dependent on your commitment to your work, growth mindset, and participation in the mastermind.

Accountability and goal setting. Aside from the specific classes and talks, we will have roughly 2 intimate group coaching sessions where we work out mental blocks, share our progress and set new milestone goals to hit.
